Gilmore Graves Golf: Golf Projects
Black Bear Casino Golf Course

Created for and managed by the Fond du Lac Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa just outside Duluth, Minnesota. The course has already earned a reputation for being a challenging and attractive destination course.
Designing and planning was a challenge in itself. The government put limitations on how much of the surrounding wetlands could be displaced. In addition, the environmental integrity of the land needed to be preserved. This included a protected trout stream that runs through the course and other wildlife habitats. The environment was kept at the forefront of all design and construction efforts. The result is a natural, serene and wildlife friendly golf environment.
Open Date: July 7, 2003
The Pines Golf Club at Marana

Striking elevation changes and impressive mountain views characterize this course near Tucson, Arizona. Formerly called The Links at Continental Ranch, The Pines is one of GGG's most notable land reclamation projects. The Links was originally built on the edge of a sand and gravel quarry. After its abandonment, the Town of Marana decided to reclaim it by relocating and reconfiguring the holes on the course to fill in the quarry. The goal was to transform an empty hole into a beautiful public recreation area. Turning a quarry into a golf course was an exciting and fulfilling project for all involved. The result is one of the most prominent and unique courses in Arizona, known as a joy and an adventure to play.
Pine Hills Golf Course

Rolling hills and deciduous forest characterize this peaceful course in pristine northern Wisconsin. Planned, designed and perfected for the Stockbridge Munsee Indian Community, this course presented various political and environmental challenges that were easily addressed by GGG's years of experience working with Native Americans to create spectacular courses on their tribal land.
Cotton Ranch Club Golf Course

Turning a diverse landscape of pastures, wetlands, and severe cliffs into a spectacular golf course came with several challenges and opportunities. But all challenges and opportunities were met and exceeded expectations and GGG produced the premier golf course of the region.
Characterized by elevated tees, fairways crossed with wetlands and even some desert holes, the course sits at 6300 feet above sea level and is playable virtually all year. The end result of years of planning, careful design, and collaboration, the Cotton Ranch Golf Community project challenged and delighted the owners and GGG alike. |
